Reviews of Village Kyoto

John
The location was favourable, just a short stroll away from a historic wooden castle. We liked rooms on level 1.

We got beautifully maintained and well-organised japanese-style room with three unfoldable sofas as an upgrade, nice gesture. The staff was friendly bilingual and helped to make our stay a fine experience. The hotel's location was marvellous, not far from a subway station and a bus station, and both public-subway and buses-and private transport.

George
Modern and extremely convenient hotel in the traditional style. The rooms with a double bed, the futon plus public bath. A central location, next to a palace and a castle.
-
Kevin
There where facilities to make tea and a kettle in the room, really enjoyed that. The great stuff provided all the necessary info. The location seemed pleasant next to two tube stations. Besides, it was next to Kawaramachi Station and Terminal 1 of Kansai International Airport and train stations & bus stops.

We were there for 1 night, overall had a nice stay. The room was neat and compact with kettle, a halfway Japanese style, microwave, and all other comforts. Everything was very good during our stay even so disappointing aspect was really small bathroom. The authentic restaurant had different food and great service.

Neat and compact room, clean bathroom. Great location, within walking distance of a cyprus-wood castle.

Fairly friendly staff, airy, modern rooms with the tatami beds all laid out. Plenty of supplies in the room: tea making facilities and a kettle. Ideal location in the shopping area, close to a subway, Nishiki market and Gion and family style restaurant.

Good-sized and nicely furnished room provided with a pre-packed style and Internet access by LAN cable, for instance. Helpful enough and particularly helpful staff, always with a smile. Good and magnificent location in the center of Kyoto, easy to get around.

This hotel offers great value for money, with affordable prices for a comfortable stay. The staff provide excellent service and attention to detail, ensuring that guests feel well taken care of. The location of the hotel on Shijo-dori, near the Omiya underground station, is ideal for exploring the city. The rooms are in a halfway Japanese style, with comfortable futon beds and thick mattresses, providing a truly authentic experience.
All aspects of this hotel were satisfactory.

Good for mid-sized group or families traveling together (up to 6 persons). Loved the Japanese decor (tatami flooring, futons for bed, Japanese paper windows)! The hot water public bath spa on the ground floor was also good, especially during autumn and winter...refreshing! Each hotel room is also well equipped with a microwave oven, hot water airpot, bowls, Japanese tea cups. However, would be good if teaspoons or soup spoons are provided as well, or even chopsticks. Bathroom is well stocked with soap, shampoo, conditioner, face/hand wash, colorful disposable toothbrushes, razors, cotton buds, hairbrushes, and shower caps. Staff are very friendly and helpful, although not all may be able to converse in English.

Both rooms we booked were compact and GOOD-sized with dryer, a TV and microwave oven. Favourable location, a train station was close to the hotel. Set next to a bamboo forest and a river, it was a plus.

Andre
The hotel is fairly clean, the staff is friendly bilingual, and the room is brand-new. The dinner in the authentic restaurant is what you need.

Nice pool, parking nearby. Newly remodelled and airy rooms, very comfy beds. Top-class staff, favourable and decent location to give directions to major tourist attractions.

Laura
Marvellous and pleasant location with private parking if needed and close to both public-subway and buses, the famous tourist attraction via bus and local train station, and Kyoto by train. Nice, courteous people working here. Great breakfasts with sushi and also Japanese food, relaxed atmosphere.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
